Our thoughtfully designed classes support cognitive and language development, improving your baby’s understanding of basic concepts and helping to develop important neural pathways.
Sensory learning encourages your baby to explore their senses. This promotes positive brain development as well as important creativity, problem-solving, and social skills. Our sensory activities for babies also assist in fine and gross motor development.
What To Expect
Our baby classes provide a gentle and nurturing environment that’s perfect for babies aged from 0 to 15 months. Using music, movement and sensory play, our program is a gentle and joyful introduction to learning.
We use fun and stimulating sensory activities to nurture your baby’s development including:
- listening to songs, singing along, and playing instruments
- playing with multi-sensory props including scarves, ribbons, bubbles, therapy balls, and the rainbow parachute
- tummy time and balancing activities for gross motor development
- finger rhymes and strumming ukuleles for fine motor development
- waving, sharing and greeting/farewell songs to develop social skills

Making Rainbows was founded by an early childhood specialist so our goal is to nurture your child’s early education, providing them with the skills they’ll need to thrive.
We combine early childhood teaching principles and the latest child developmental research with the benefits of music, movement, and sensory activities to create our gorgeous baby classes. Led by a qualified facilitator, each class is designed to encourage developmental skills, foster joyful connections, and instil a lifelong love of learning in little ones.
The latest research from the University of Queensland supports our approach. It showed “that children who experience early shared music activities in the home during infancy and early childhood score better than their peers in vocabulary, numeracy, attentional and emotional regulation and pro-social skills.” ~ Professor Barrett
